This was easily the most difficult trail run I have ever done --every step of the way was single track filled with rocks and boulders, up steep climbs or down slipper rocks --alot of boulder scrambling and 4mountains --no wonder only 19 50 milers, out of 86 starters finished...full race report to follow but here are alot of photos showing the climbs in the 1/2, which was the same as the 50K and 50 miler (miles 4 and 5 took 1/2hour!!). I was so lucky to hook up with Anthony's friend Kristen we were both on the same wavelength -take our time and finish on one piece. I was so proud of brennen and staci, who finished the 50 miler and 50K, and Anthoy, who made t to mile 39.2 and would have been able to go on had they not had the most unreasonable cutoffs!!!!! Almost 75 percent of the field was cut.

wow, for you to say it was tougher than escarpment means that was one unbelievable patch of terrain to run a race over!!
all that hard work deserves some adult beverages :D
hey, I'll skip the endurance run but can I come for the adult beverages????
Awesome job. Awesome pictures. See ya later today !!!
great job! thanks for the report and all the great pictures :)
yes, Frank, it was harder than escarpment as the climbs were longer and the descents just as bad...but the views were awesome. Next time, I am skipping the run and going out for adult beverages with you and Myriam (and anthony)-
seriously, Myriam - we need to go to a wine tasting event this summer!!with my brother, of course.
Thanks Meredith, if i had known how bad this course was, would have never registered given that I am recovering!!! see you at Sybil.
LOL! Could I possible have any more food shoved in my mouth right then? I think that was pretty much the last bit I was able to get down, aside from some saltines later one. Thank you SO much for your company - next time we'll have to do it for longer (I'll try to keep up)!
